SPRING HAS SPRUNG & SARAH IS SPRINGING SOMEPLACE NEW?!

hello,

I hope you are all having a delightful day. Personally this weather that we have been having instantly has brightened up my mood! Although despite the beautiful aspects that the season of winter has to offer, I was ready for it to move on out and not come back for quite some time. Goodbye scarves and hello sandals!

Already, this spring has had me swamped with a million things to accomplish, but one thing that I had to learn to do is still have time to smell the flowers. I say this both literally and figuratively. The figurative side of it, is apart from working three jobs, going to school, and trying to keep a consistent workout schedule, I need to learn to relax and enjoy. Truthfully I love staying busy. None of the items mentioned above are classified as a chore for me. Everyday I am excited to step into the office I work at, simply because the work environment is a positive experience. It is truly a blessing to work for a team of hardworking individuals, that not only work to get certain items accomplished, but everyday put their best foot forward in creating a better experience for the individuals around the workplace. Oh and not to mention, I love having them taste my baking experiments...and I think that may be the reason they still keep me around!

Secondly, while going to class is something that is "suppose" to be done, I have no objections in doing so. Of course, some days sitting through a 50 minute class may seem like the death of me, but no worries, I get over it. This semester it has been such a joy to finally start classes that reflect my major, and boy does this make me even more excited for the future. The academic year is inching towards the final month of classes, but it is a refreshing feeling being mindfully content with my course curriculums. So even though I have had a full course load, staying busy with classes is not something that I am affected with either. Like my job, I simply enjoy going to classes and interacting with students and professors, but if only they could leave out the exams. (Those are by far the worst!)

Working out. Working out. Working out. I have learned it is all a mental game for me. Every morning when my alarm goes off at 6:00 AM, I press the snooze button 5 or 6 time. (Ask my roommate, she probably hates me because of that nasty habit) The routine seems the same with debating whether or not I should go workout, or how much I would value the extra hour of sleep. Unfortunately I always choose the first option of working out because now that the weather is finally nice, I have no excuse not to. Although the first initial steps of getting out the door are excruciating, once I am out the door, I am always surprised how pleasant it feels to get a bit of exercise before the sun comes up. I believe that is what I gain from staying busy with all three of these activities. While many benefit from participating in other activities, I gain such unique qualities from these three, that I find the relaxation and enjoyment that I need and thrive off of. So in that case I stop and smell the flowers at my job, in the classroom, and surprisingly in the gym (but maybe those flowers are a bit stinky!)

BUT

On the literal side of things, this weekend was absolutely gorgeous so I went out to see the wonderful flowers that my mother has growing all through our yard. She is a woman of many talents and an eye for flowers is another talent to add to the list. Looking at all of the different colors and smelling all of the scents, she toured me around the yard! Luckily, I had my camera close by so I snapped a few photos to share. (Posted BELOW) My hopes with this is that not only do you enjoy the variations of the flowers and their beauty, but you are able to find relaxation and enjoyment in the things that you participate in. Even if not all of it is as springy as these flowers, or smell as good as the tulips, may you be able to find light, and at the end a smile. Blessing be to all in all that you do.

On top of all of that...

Today is a special day because today marks the ONE month stretch until I leave on a new journey. I have been given an incredible opportunity to spread my ideas, love, and an eye for adventure to another part of this world. Can you guess where I am heading? If not, have no fear, because in a short month, I will be taking you all along on this journey with me!

I can not wait to see what God has in store for this upcoming summer, but whatever it is, all of my faith is with him.

Until Next Time,

Sarah
